Celebrating Excellence: Awards Evening 2025
Posted on: 12/01/2026Our annual Awards Evening took place on Wednesday 17 December 2025, at Woolf College, University of Kent. This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, expanding beyond GCSE and A Level prize winners to include students from Years 8–13. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of the past year and to honour recipients of our citizenship prizes.
A highlight of the evening was reconnecting with some of last year’s A Level students. Hearing about their experiences at university, in employment and during gap years was truly inspiring.
We were privileged to welcome our guest speaker, Deputy Lieutenant Colonel Jane Carey-Harris TD DL VR, representing the Lieutenancy of Kent. Based in Canterbury, Colonel Carey-Harris delivered an uplifting address, drawing on her remarkable forty-year career in the NHS. From training as a nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London to serving as the Territorial Army’s Queen’s Honorary Nurse in 2012, her journey was nothing short of extraordinary. Her words of wisdom and practical advice left a lasting impression on our students, encouraging them to embrace opportunities and strive for excellence.
