Art in Focus: Year 7 and 8 Students Impress with their Creativity

The Art Department at Barton Court would like to showcase some excellent work by Year 7 and 8 students this academic year.

Students in Year 7 have been learning how to use tone when drawing, to create an illusion of depth and form as well as learning about colour theory in a painting project.

Year 8 students have learnt to draw a self-portrait using a grid method to ensure accurate shapes and proportions. Then they have developed this idea using mixed media and digital media to create distorted outcomes, inspired by Cubism.
