National Poetry Success for BCGS Student
Posted on: 22/09/2026We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Kairo, who was selected as a finalist in the Poetry by Heart 2026 National Competition in the Key Stage 4 Freestyle Category.
Being chosen as a finalist is a remarkable accomplishment in itself, with the competition attracting more than 147,000 entries from students across the country.
Kairo travelled to the Globe Theatre, London, on Monday 6 July to compete in the national final, where he won his category – a huge achievement! He gave a mature and emotional reading of the Simon Armitage’s poem ‘Remains’ and fully deserves this excellent result.
