Y7 Athletics Success

Posted on: 21/05/2019

On Tuesday 21 May 2019, 16 of ourYear 7 students travelled to the Canterbury Academy for the Super 8’s Athletics event. The event consists of teams of 8 taking on a track, field and relay event each in a team competition.

The Festival was well attended as schools looked to qualify for the Kent School Games Finals. Ten schools battled it out on a lovely sunny afternoon. There were some excellent performances by students, with the highlight being a sub 13 second 100m run by the boys Captain and relay wins for both boys and girls A teams.

The students efforts resulted in an impressive 5th place finish for the girls team. The boys went even further and finished in second place overall. This means the boys will go on to represent the Canterbury partnership at the Kent School Games Final in June.

Well done to all athletes.
