Athletics Success

On Tuesday 19 June Barton Court took a strong team of over 40 athletes to the District Team event at Canterbury Academy. The team were looking to beat their 3rd place finish from 2017.

 

On a hot day, there were some electric performances, with Daniel  (shot putt), Calypso (long jump and 200m) and Scarlett (100m) being crowned District Champions in their respective events.

 

Both Junior Boys and Girls came 3rd overall in their age group competitions, whilst the Intermediate Boys pushed Langton right to the wire, with an impressive 2nd place. Unfortunately the Intermediate Girls did not place, although there were some strong performances.

 

Overall in the combined competition the School finished 2nd, only losing out to Kent College. This is a fantastic achievement to finish 2nd from all 11 schools in the district event. We look forward to competing for top spot next year.

 

Well done to all athletes involved, they were a credit to the School.
