Y10 Trip to the National Portrait Gallery

Posted on: 21/09/2017

Our first Enrichment Day of the year and Y10 art students set off bright and early by coach to the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The new Y10 art project is called ‘Portrait’ so this trip provided some excellent research as a starting point. As well as marvelling at the ornate clothing in the historical portraits we also looked at contemporary portraits and entries in the BP Portrait Award 2017. The highlight of our visit was going into ‘The Encounter’, an exhibition of portrait drawings and sketches from the 16th and 17th centuries.
