Spanish Exchange Trip - September 2017Posted on: 29/09/2017
30 BCGS students enjoyed a fantastic exchange trip to the town of Las Rozas, close to Madrid.
Staying with Spanish families and attending the local school gave students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture that they have learnt so much about during their lessons.
A day was spent in beautiful Madrid and the visit included El Palacio Real, Museo del Prado, Parque del Retiro and a tour around the historical centre.
During their stay Las Rozas celebrated a local holiday with festivities, live music and local food which was very much enjoyed.
A trip to Segovia up in the mountains enabled time at the beautiful palace modelled on the Palace of Versailles and a wander around the historical centre, aquaduct and 140 steps up the spiral staircase to see the stunning views from the Castle.
Nervous at meeting their Spanish families, students soon settled down and embraced the challenge of speaking Spanish with the added bonus of brilliantly warm weather with an average temperature of 27 degrees.
Students are now looking forward to welcoming their buddies to the UK early next year when it won't be quite so warm!
