The IB Learner Profile

Both the MYP course and the Diploma are based around allowing students to develop the IB learner profile. The key aspects of this are summarised below

  • Inquirers - Develop natural curiosity and develop skills to research and show independence in learning.
  • Knowledgeable - Explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance.
  • Thinkers - Exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.
  • Communicators -Understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and in a variety of modes of communication.
  • Principled - Act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness, justice and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups and communities.
  • Open-minded - Open to the values and perspectives of others.
  • Caring - Empathy, compassion and respect to other's feelings.

  • Balanced - The importance of balance for well-being
