The IB Learner Profile
Both the MYP course and the Diploma are based around allowing students to develop the IB learner profile. The key aspects of this are summarised below
- Inquirers - Develop natural curiosity and develop skills to research and show independence in learning.
- Knowledgeable - Explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance.
- Thinkers - Exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.
- Communicators -Understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and in a variety of modes of communication.
- Principled - Act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness, justice and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups and communities.
- Open-minded - Open to the values and perspectives of others.
- Caring - Empathy, compassion and respect to other's feelings.
- Risk-takers - Courage and forethought to explore new roles
- Balanced - The importance of balance for well-being
- Reflective - Consider their learning experiences.
